Melon

The Melon comes from the Cucurbitaceae family, just like the watermelon. It originates from Asia (probably the Middle East) and Africa.

It has a high water content and therefore is low caloric and very refreshing.  Its composition includes sugar, vitamin A, C and B3 and mineral salts such as calcium, phosphate and iron.  Ripe melons are found to have tranquilizing, diuretic and laxative properties.
